Filmic Conditions

Date: 2 January 2014
Location: New York City
Weather Conditions: Cold, with eventual snowfall. [May never get the feeling in my toes back]

Given the fact that this little excursion into the city occurred on my 21st birthday, it seemed necessary to celebrate appropriately. So naturally, on this benchmark occasion I chose to see the kid-friendly Broadway production of Cinderella with my family. Let's just say, I know how to party. Get at me clean humor and tried and true nuggets of morality.

But in all seriousness, it was probably one of the most magical experiences. Ever. The costume changes alone, my God. It was like watching that quick change couple from America's Got Talent (except set to better music). Like many other audience members, I walked away from that show as a fervent "Fantino." He and Laura Osnes are so charming that I would gladly pay to watch them assemble IKEA furniture for a couple hours. And while some parts of the script were a bit clunky, I couldn't help but revert to my pre-pubescent self - the one who was evidently unaware that normal American 21 year olds get plastered on their birthdays. And they don't sit in a theatre between their mom and some giggling preteen to watch a show geared for a demographic half their age.

When we came out of the theatre the streets were surprisingly empty - save for a few cars, and everything was covered in a thin blanket of snow. As we walked back to our hotel, the snow gently fell  and I kept looking up at the sky to see if I could catch a glimpse of klieg lights or scaffolding as we had evidently wandered onto the set of a Frank Capra movie by mistake.
Ah B&W, making photos go from blurry to "artsy"
Shaky camera work brought to you by: freezing temps

My sister and I quickly revealed our tourist status as we frolicked about. Gliding through the fresh powder and swinging around poles. All the while, normal citizens quickly hurried past us because clearly only California-native morons dawdle about in below freezing conditions.

The hotel we stayed at was quite lovely. And what establishment is complete without restrooms which include art deco staircases?
Ever wondered what the height of luxury is folks?
 This is it. Revel.
